CCR Question 3:
• How did
your production skills develop throughout this project?
As I had to provide a detailed and informative response to this question and involved no images, I thought a voice-over uploaded on sound-cloud would be a better idea to present this.

The Script:
- As
someone who had always loved watching movies and seasons and as I have always
loved making short videos: vlogs or just edits like reels on Instagram. I
already was looking forward to getting to know what and how everything happens
behind the scenes and learn new editing techniques.
- As I was
doing my project alone, from the beginning till the end, I was doing everything
by myself without any help at all so after planning and making my media project
I can confidently say that my production skills have significantly improved.
- First
came the research part, as we analyzed different film opening and studied media
deeply in school. I started looking at films more as just entertainment. I
still remember when I watched the movie, “Top Gun” in cinema after studying
media. I was constantly thinking of all the shots in my head and how they have
used diegetic sound in what scenes and why would they use them. This was the
first step into knowing that my media knowledge is increasing and now that My
Film is done, I have started looking at media very differently.
- When I
was planning my project, the amount of ideas that were coming to my mind made
me realize how it’s so difficult to make a good film with such limited
resources and budget. I got to know how the little details are so important
while planning as it can have a huge impact on the film, especially as I was planning
the mise-e-scene.
- In the production process, I learned a lot about shooting. When we look at a media
product, we don’t realize how much time and energy it took to actually create
it. But in this way I could actually experience it. I was really curios
regarding how films are actually made, but my confusions were cleared when I
became the director of my film. I was always puzzled as to how directors pick
on the right shot and attach it together to create meaning, I mean how can you
choose between 1000 shots but after I made my shot list and during my
production, I knew how much shots I have taken for each scene and which one was
the one I had to use to make the best film opening. I also got to know how
everything never goes according to how one planned it to make a good film, you
have to come out of your comfort zone. Moreover, I never knew sound is recorded
separately in a film and then added to the shots, so I always wondered how in
these movies, there are different shots shown in a flow with no cuts in the
audio. After editing my opening, I got to know how it is actually made.
- I
learned about the importance of Pre-planning as It would always help you in the
production process when you are making the final film. As someone who has ADHD,
Planning and writing down everything in advance is was really helpful for me as
It doesn’t affect my production process. As I was doing my project alone, I had
to manage so many things at one time so I grasped so much during it.
- As being
the editor of the film too, I experimented with different apps while editing my
video and got to learn a lot during it. I used adobe photo-shop video for the
first time, tried a lot of tools on it. I installed several apps on my phone
and tried editing on each one of them and then decided on the ones that gave me
my desired look.
